Care For Abandoned
We
High unemployment, poor health care and inadequate education are both causes and indicators of crushing poverty in Honduras. These realities, combined with complicated social dynamics, result in a surprising number of displaced children who have no one to provide for them and protect them in their vulnerability.   These very children are poised to repeat in their own lives the hopeless cycle of unemployment, disease and illiteracy that has been forced upon them.

World Gospel Outreach is working to stop this devastating cycle by providing these desperate children a meaningful home environment filled with love and structure, and by providing them a solid education along with vocational and life-skill training. Our hope is to release into Honduran society seeds of family renewal as our young people grow and transition to make their way as productive citizens in Honduran society.

Children And Family
The daily struggle among the lower economic class of Honduras is a constant, consuming reality that cannot be meaningfully addressed by “relief” strategies that simply offer a day’s resources to those who lack them.

At Rancho Ebenezer, our complex in the mountains outside the city of Tegucigalpa, we provide a place where the children, entrusted to WGO by God, are provided a home, a family headed by houseparents, a safe enviornment and an education.

Education

Through the bi-lingual school program of Ebenezer Academy, children are provided with a meaningful education, Bible study and vocational training in coffee horticulture and trade. They are given age-appropriate responsibility and are taught to work together and to dream of a bright future serving others and serving their country. Meaningful ministry and service opportunities further equip children to break the cycle of poverty and abandonment, restoring hope for these future leaders of Honduras.

Our graduates have served their society in schools, Christian ministry and business.  Our hope is that through citizenship, productivity and vital relationships, young people who graduate from WGO’s program will set an example of Christian virtue in their homes and communities and influence others for Jesus Christ.

Future
We

For most Honduran children, the future is dim; however, it’s optimistic and hopeful for those who come to live at Rancho Ebenezer. They gain spiritual and personal skills to enable them to live independently as godly, Christian adults who can exercise their leadership skills to serve their country.

Children who have completed their education at Rancho Ebenezer are able to transition to The Bridge House where they will continue to learn life and job survival skills like personal finances, spending, saving, shopping, cooking, job interview skills and much more.   When they graduate from the Bridge House, children are launched into their early adulthood with joy and celebration.
