Dear Reader,
It was over twenty years ago that Dona and I founded World Gospel Outreach. As I look back on it, we were not ideal candidates for the job. We were not young really, being empty nesters and Dona, just months before, had come through two brain operations and still had five inoperable brain aneurysms that were time bombs inside her head. Yet, at the time we did not even remotely consider that age or circumstances had anything to do with the matter. It was the reality that we would one day be held accountable for the things God had shown us and for the talents and abilities that He had given us which focused our attention.
Since the day we founded the ministry in January, 1984, it has grown to become a dedicated assembly of North Americans, British and Hondurans committed to carrying the light and love of Jesus Christ to impoverished Hondurans. Their dedication has gained World Gospel Outreach a significant reputation in every level of Honduran society.
Part of the success of this ministry is found in its mission statement:
“Believers equipping children and families for spiritual and moral excellence, serving the nations for Jesus Christ”
No one in Honduran society is more forgotten than its abandoned children. Our mandate is to rescue and raise children like we would our own in a wholesome family environment. The future of any society is assured in its children who are able to follow God and faithfully produce biblically functional families- God’s incubators for future generations.
Another essential factor of success is following the biblical principle of teamwork. No one person has the answer, but as we come together with God, we form a big answer… His answer.
