Long Term Missionaries
Long Term Missionaries are North Americans that serve full time in a foreign field. They will serve for a minimum of a 6 month to 4 year covenant (position permitting) and be able to raise their full support with the intention of serving longer in order to have a more effective ministry impact. Language training will be required for those not proficient.

The essence of this position is that it provides the overall operational leadership for the ministry activities in the country of Belize and for neighboring countries as we pursue growth from the Belize campus operations. The current major element of the WGO ministry in Belize is the Serve Teams that come and do partnership projects in the community.

The essence of this position is to help build a true Christian Community and a strategic discipleship plan. This will be accomplished by prayerfully assisting the Ranch Director and the managers under the Ranch Director with programs to encourage spiritual growth and development for both staff members and children.

This person will be responsible for assistance in developing new programs and methods of education. The Assistant Principal will research and evaluate new curriculums to find ones that best fit the needs of Ebenezer Academy and align with the morals and values of WGO. They will also provide support for the Principal/ Director, teachers and staff and help wherever needed at the Academy.

The Teacher will be expected to prepare and plan instructional and educational activities and learning materials as well as preparing the classroom for said lessons and activities. They will oversee, monitor and keep record of students progress and learning and be expected to convey this information to parents, colleagues and students.

World Gospel Outreach is looking for the right people to join our team as Mentor Parents for children at Rancho Ebenezer. Mentor Parents are married Christian couples that live at Rancho Ebenezer to participate as members of Children’s Services, whose focus is developing critical relationships with ministry children in order to provide for their developmental needs.

The Mission House (MH) Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the medical needs of the serve teams’ members. They will ensure the health and safety of serve teams, staff members and volunteers at the Mission House.

The Ranch Maintenance personnel will be expected to help maintain the grounds, building and facilities at Rancho Ebenezer. This may include things like yard work, handy-man work, some construction, and basic plumbing and appliance work. No degree is required for this position but they must be able to show quality of work.

The main responsibility of the Ranch Nurse will be to provide overall medical care for the children, staff, residents and visitors of Rancho Ebenezer. The Ranch Nurse will be expected to promote spiritual, physical and emotional wellbeing through strong and balanced medical and Biblical practices. They will manage the medical clinic and will also equip the staff and residents to understand the best medical practices used in a home.

The Children’s Psychologist at the Ranch will conduct psychological testing, leading to diagnoses, analysis, and treatment of psychological disturbances. The psychologist must be able to conduct clinical sessions independently with the children and youth at the Ranch.

The Social Worker’s role will be to support and educate Mentor Parents, Ebenezer Academy, Children’s Services staff and general staff in the understanding of childhood development, trauma and appropriate caregiving techniques for at-risk children residing at Rancho Ebenezer.

For youth aged 10-18 living at the Ranch and attending the school, this person will guide them towards their future careers. This role is meant to help prepare children to enter the workforce in Honduras after graduation.

This person will be responsible for helping with all matters related to finance with the Mission House and Rancho Ebenezer. They will report directly to the Accounting Specialist in Honduras and complete tasks delegated by their supervisor.

The Serve Team (ST) Auxiliary will provide assistance to the Serve Team department. Under the direction of the ST Manager, they will provide direction, transportation, translation and logistical support for visiting teams.
Volunteers
Volunteers can serve for one week up to three months at a time in Honduras and/ or Belize. When serving abroad, volunteers live on WGO campuses and provide support for WGO's missionaries and staff as needed. This can be either a self-supported or fundraising opportunity. Volunteers can also be approved to serve stateside for longer periods of time in designated roles.

Ambassadors work closely with our Development Director for guidance in identifying opportunities to share the Kingdom work being accomplished in Central America. Becoming an Ambassador for World Gospel Outreach is a great way for WGO's friends and partners to share personal experiences and trips to encourage others to get involved with our Kingdom mission.

If you are a registered nurse, wanting to use your nursing experience abroad, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Come support our staff as a nurse at one of our three campuses in Central America. Opportunities are available on a short and longer term basis while living on WGO campuses. Rancho Ebenezer, located in the mountains near Tegucigalpa, Honduras, is always looking for those who love to teach children and are willing to share their knowledge. Come support Ebenezer Academy by sharing your unique skills and knowledge with the children at Rancho Ebenezer- no licensing required. If you are handy at fixing, building, repairing or just lending an extra hand, this opportunity could be perfect for you. Our staff needs the support of someone who can use their talents and skills to update and maintain our facilities and grounds to keep them in good repair. Opportunities are available on a short and longer term basis while living on WGO campuses. This can be either a self-supported or fundraising opportunity.

Volunteers are required to live on a WGO campus base where they are serving. Volunteers serve and support the current missionaries along with Honduras or Belize staff in whatever capacity is needed on a daily basis. This can be a fundraising position or self-supported opportunity.

The quick answer is yes. We as foreigners living full-time in another country, we respect the local government rules and we live by best practices. There are dangerous areas in both countries just like there are dangerous areas in most major cities. You just don’t go to those areas.

As a matter of fact, YES! WGO offers 2 weeks of paid time off for missionaries starting out. Honduras and the surrounding countries have so much to offer in the way of tourism. You can Zip Line the longest Zip Line in Central America in Honduras, sled down an active volcano in Nicaragua, feed wild monkeys in El Salvador, visit the 2nd oldest working clock in the world in Honduras, ride Innertubes in a cave in Belize, and so much more.

The wonderful thing about becoming a missionary with WGO is that in Belize and Honduras, our organization is established and set up. You do not have to worry about where your office or work location is, that is all set up for you.

Yes, it is a unique privilege to be called by God to raise your support to go serve His people. You raise your support to have a paycheck to cover your living expenses. WGO has taken care of establishing our ministry with the government so that you can begin your ministry work immediately. That is many thousands of dollars and much time spent trying to get set up that you do not have to worry about. And relax, there are many successful missionaries that are ready to coach you on best practices and encourage you along the way.

What is really neat about living in a foreign country is that you get to experience a new culture. There are unique dishes in both countries that the locals are best known for. Having an open mind and a good appetite is the best recipe for finding food. Interestingly enough, the fast food in Honduras just tastes better than the US version.

In Belize, they are known for speaking English as their primary language, Spanish next, and there is also a form of Creole. In Honduras, you will speak Spanish, but don’t worry, WGO will have you go to language school so that you will be able to connect with the culture fast. Being able to speak a 2nd language is a great opportunity to enhance your resume. Also, both countries are very welcoming to people who try to communicate in their language. Plus, you will find many people who know some or a lot of 2 languages.

Yes, it can be amazing, but there are times that you will be tested as well. Working cross-culturally and learning to live in a new environment can be challenging. But when you are serving the Lord, satan wants to step in and make you feel as though you can’t do it or aren’t good enough. That is where having a strong relationship with the Lord is critical so that when satan attacks, you will be ready. Coming with an open mind and can-do attitude and willingness to meet new people will allow you to have the most fun you could imagine.
