From Relief to Development
The $25,000 Launch
Small Business Development
As we move through the first quarter of 2026, there is a growing sense of momentum at World Gospel Outreach. If you were to walk through the Mission House in Tegucigalpa recently, you would see a team energized by what God did in February. We didn’t just cover hundreds of miles; we saw the deep work of our Pastoral Training Program take root in the hearts of leaders who have been waiting for these resources for years.
In Belize, we stood alongside leadership from Christian Faith Church as they led local pastors through the fundamental “Why” of ministry. In the remote mountains of El Paraíso and the dust of Choluteca, we sat with under-resourced pastors, teaching from Ephesians 4:12 about what a healthy church truly looks like.
But as we got to know these partner pastors and listen to them, a consistent theme emerged. Though now better equipped, these pastors are leading communities that are starving for opportunities and aid.
For years, WGO has been known for its heart for Relief. We have been a hand of mercy, providing food, medical care, water and shelter to the “least of these.” We will never stop doing that. However, our 3-Year Strategic Plan guides us to move further and deeper.
We believe that the health of a community is linked to the health of its leaders. If we train a pastor to lead a healthy church, but the members of that church cannot feed their children, the cycle of poverty remains unbroken. To see a thriving church, we must also foster a thriving community.
The Vision: Small Business Development
This month, we are officially launching our SBD program—a strategic effort to empower local believers to become self-sustaining. This compliments existing and growing Pastoral Training and Vocational Education. SBD is a long-term investment in the men and women who will be leading these communities for decades to come.
Our SBD model is built on three pillars:
1. Biblical Entrepreneurship Classes: teaching students that God is the creator of all good things, including money and work, and owning a business can be worship and a blessing to their community
2. Business Plan Creation: completing a market analysis and business plan
3. Savings Clubs: grouping budding entrepreneurs with others who can share resources, encouragement and prayer
The goal is to not only continue meeting needs in communities; we hope to help them move from the cycle of poverty to a future that is more stable.
The Starting Line: A $25,000 Goal
To launch this first phase of our Small Business Development initiative, we have set a goal to raise $25,000 this month.
This amount is just the beginning-- a “seed fund” for a 3-year expansion that will eventually reach every region we serve and even new regions. This initial investment will allow us to:
• Hire facilitators in each region to lead Biblical Entrepreneurship Classes
• Print curriculum for our first 150 candidates
• Recruit a part-time Program Coordinator to ensure the program has maximum impact and accountability
Join the Expansion
When we were in Choluteca last month, the air was thick with anticipation. The pastors are ready. They are eager to help their communities.
We are asking you to join us in this growth.
Your gift of $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or $3,000 today is an investment in a future where the people of Honduras, Belize and Guatemala no longer rely on outside relief, but stand tall, giving God the glory as their provider for their families through ways they only dreamed of previously.
Thank you for standing with us as we expand our reach and provide these vital resources to those who have been waiting for them.
In Christ,
